Our media presence in 2023.

This year has been full of pleasant surprises. Among some of them is the recognition received for our work. Several magazines have highlighted our workshop, showing their confidence in us. In response, we have compiled the best moments and comments from these editors on our blog, allowing us to reflect on our progress and the impressions we have left.

Sagarminaga Atelier in “AD” magazine.

In the article, although explicit recognition is not attributed to us, the work of our hands is clearly highlighted: the colossal columns crafted by commission for Dorothee Meilichzon. These structures, gracefully ascending to a height of 15 meters, bestow an imposing and transformative presence upon the expanded hotel atrium. Dorothee expresses it this way:

"We are confronted with a monumental space..."

Faced with this situation, the challenge became balancing this monumentality with human intimacy.

Sagarminaga Atelier in “Frame” magazine.

In this article, FRAME magazine highlighted our participation and collaboration with the metal design studio MIID among the privileged 10 out of 600 exhibitors at the Habitat Fair, recognizing our work in a sector crowded with professionals from around the world.

Sagarminaga Atelier in “Elle Decor”.

In her article from October 13th, Gemma Marcos highlights how our creations reflect the enormous potential inherent in traditional materials such as esparto, linen, reed, wicker, and cordage —materials that have woven the fabric of our nation's history—. Furthermore, she praised our recent presentation at NUDE as a triumph:

"Today, they triumph with their own brand. The proof lies in the success they have achieved at the Habitat Valencia 2023 fair [...], where they presented their New Nature collection."

Sagarminaga Atelier in “Fuera de Serie” magazine.

This is our first mention in “Fuera de Serie” magazine. On this occasion, “Taburete, el Monstruito,” becomes the representative of our catalog and artisanal skills, earning the nickname “wild cordage”.

"Sagarminaga Atelier in “Arquitectura y Diseño” magazine.

We hold great admiration for “Arquitectura y Diseño” magazine and its nearly 40 years of continuous entertainment, inspiration, and education for the reader.

It brought us great joy to learn that our workshop and our involvement in the interior design project of the 5-star “La Zambra” Hotel in Mijas were featured in its pages.

Sagarminaga Atelier in Suzanne Wales' book “Made in Spain”.

Suzanne Wales is a prominent communications specialist with a specialized focus on architecture and design. She has been residing in Barcelona for over two decades and recently released a new book titled 'Made in Spain,' in which she highlights talented artisans from across the country, offering inspiration to her readers. In her work, Suzanne includes our workshop, Sagarminaga Atelier, and summarizes our creative approach as follows:

"The objects from Sagarminaga Atelier address folkloric symbols through a contemporary prism."

Sagarminaga Atelier in the newspaper “Deia”.

On December 13th, Andrea Valle published an article in 'Deia' that caught our attention and resonated deeply with our own ideas. The headline, "the luxury of fiber is born in Bilbao”, gives us a hint of the content, but it's worth highlighting what the body of her article contains:

"On Tiboli Street, where grand design projects are conceived and later showcased in luxurious hotels like the Experimental Regina in Biarritz [...] or the five-star La Zambra Hotel in Mijas.

However, Gabriela de Sagarminaga's artisanal creations are not limited to tourist accommodations but also grace renowned restaurants worldwide. An example of this is the project she is currently immersed in for a well-known restaurant in Dubai."

Sagarminaga Atelier in “El País Semanal” magazine.

Last Christmas, we launched the sale of a unique Christmas tree that blends the classic with the innovative. Despite the continued popularity of the traditional green tree, Tachy Mora from “El País Semanal” suggests exploring other options to uphold tradition with an original touch.

Sagarminaga Atelier in “Casa Living Korea” magazine.

We are delighted to see how our work has crossed borders, reaching even as far as Korea, a place both distant and culturally enriching. It is gratifying and surprising that our creations find resonance there, and we hope they inspire and attract more clients in that country.
