House reform project with Natalia Zubizarreta.
Renovating an 18th century house can be difficult and challenging, but Natalia Zubizarreta enjoys her success in doing so in a new renovation project. And, in this project, she has asked us to create some pieces to decorate the house.
This project revolves around a single-family building from the 18th century, in the town of Otxandio. The house needed to revitalize without losing the weight of its stories and history, this is, without eliminating the reflection of the past that characterizes it.
Our work consisted in designing and creating a combination of traditional and contemporary pieces that injected an artisan and natural tonality that, moreover, would help reinforce the narrative of the space.
For this project, we recovered some of the decorative sculptures that we devised for the Hotel Hilton project in Madrid, such as the horse whips, the steer front and the Andalusian horse front because these could translate the values determined by Natalia and fit perfectly into the project.
We combine these sculptures with two new fiber frames called "Spring". Their impactful figures are featured by large dimensions and games of geometric patterns that provide freshness and contemporaneity and harmonize the antagonistic relationship between these two types of pieces.
Together, the space and the pieces help generate a sensation of luminosity and converge with the prevailing beige color; they add material variety, volume and naturalness to the space.
We want to thank Natalia Zubizarreta that she has decided to work with us. We are always passionate about projects with so much history and essence, for which, with great respect, we gladly seek to propose a new sensitivity for its new uses.
